in-akustik’s new Profi HDMI 2.0 LWL cables use pro-grade light-wave conductor (LWC) technology allowing for achieving data rates of up to 18Gbps at a maximum range of 100 meters. This means that the LWC cables support 4K high-resolution formats at 50 or 60Hz, making them the perfect solution for long-distance links to devices implementing the HDMI 2.0 standard. Transmission also includes HDCP 2.2 copy-protection and EDID display data. The cabling hardware complies with the CE standard and the REACH and RoHS directives.
The specifications of the new HDMI 2.0 standard were released on 4 September 2013 by the HDMI Forum that represents 88 businesses from the multimedia industry. The most important improvement in HDMI 2.0 is the support of 4K contents at twice the refresh rate compared to its predecessor.
Connecting the new ultrafast HDMI cables is child’s play thanks to Plug and Play capabilities and the rugged full-metal connectors. The cables are highly flexible with a diameter of just 4mm and the routing-direction markings make installing them straightforward. Despite the huge transmission distance, no dedicated power supply is required—the HDMI ports provide all necessary power.
The cables have a uniform anthracite-colored design and are available in 20-meter and 30-meter lengths in poly bags as well as in 50-meter, 70-meter, and 100-meter lengths on reels—for virtually unlimited installation opportunities.
